Ranakpur Temple Meditations

It was a long ride on a beautiful highway from Udaipur and then a narrow road through villages in the hills and mountains to reach the Ranakpur Jain Temple.

The temple was was built several hundred years ago and the original family of monks were still the caretakers. A statue of a monk in meditation was otherworldly.

It sparked many thoughts of meditation and Samadhi. The peace on the face of statue was palpable and I was glad I had visited the temple.

Meditation and prayer

I am a human

Body and mind are my tools

Karma is my burden

Wisdom and Bliss are my nature

Self, Atma, is my reality

Choose I must

I alone am responsible for my choices

My choices have made me who I am

Now I will choose with awareness

Now I will choose good words, good thoughts and good deeds

Now I will choose health and happiness for me

Now I will choose health and happiness for all
